Bassano 1970s Foliage Planter Ceramic 5.5" Vase- Floral Majolica Sculpted

The Vintage Italian Bassano Majolica Planter-3D Raised Floral Design.

Bring a touch of the Italian countryside into your home with this stunning Bassano del Grappa ceramic planter. Crafted with the region's signature artisan flair, this piece features intricate, hand-painted 3D columbine flowers and trailing green vines that "climb" the exterior of the creamy white pot.

These Bassano planters are famous for their hand-applied technique called barbotine or (majolica.) Instead of being painted on, the flowers and vines were sculpted from wet clay and then attached to the surface before the pot was fired in the kiln.

Condition: Great vintage condition with vibrant colors and high-shine finish. No chips or cracks on 3D Columbines and vines Design. Minimal vintage wear little crazing is noticeable, expected for pieces that are over 50+ years old. The plastic water stopper plug included.

Authenticity Note: There are a few small noticeable small glazed over furnace stone along the edge of some the 3D vine leaves.

There is also a intentional slit/crack inside the vase that was heavily glassed over by the artist to authenticate that this Bassano vase was in fact handmade.
