The 1970's and 1980's had an interesting DIY when its came to ceramics , porcelain , and/or pottery. Make it yourself, or buy a default and add your own style paint and gloss finish and have it marked with a personal engravement.
This particular Piece is a perfect example of this trend. at the base of the jewelry box shows that manufactured engraved stamp is covered over a by sand base beige paint with mini brown grit covered with a smooth clear glaze. The resting stallion is painted in two tones of browns, darker browns are used on the mane hooves, and tail-end.
The emerging artist had painted and personally engraved this jewelry box in 1984 for a Birthday present, the inscriptions reads: "WJH 84 Happy Birthday Kitty"
Standing at 6 inches tall it really brings out country style living décor while being functional. Normally used as jewelry box, its is used as a tinker holder or candy dish.
Great vintage condition , no chips , cracks , or color fade.
