The reverse side features the artistic backstory, a unique handwritten plate registration number (A 4942), and the elegant brush calligraphy of an 18th-century haiku by famous poetess Kaga no Chiyo: “Even to the person who snaps its branch, the plum blossom leaves its fragrance.”
