Vintage Mid-Century "Happy Hobo" Ceramic Valet Set - Mixed Pair (High Gloss & Detailed)

This charming pair of "Happy Hobos" captures the whimsical spirit if the 1950's-60's barware. While they share the same classic mold-complete with top hats, cigars, and "patched" pockets-they offer a fascinating study in mid-century manufacturing variations.

Heavyweight Gent:

Weight: Over 2 lbs. 

Finish: High-gloss, "thick-pour" glaze.

Base: Features a smooth, glazed "finished-foot," indicating a premium production run designed to protect furniture surfaces.

Condition: fairly good vintage shape with vibrant glossy colors. Minor repaired made on the cane that's hooked on to the hobo sack. ( see photos for details) No markings present, consistent with Japanese export pieces of the era.  

The Detailed Wonderer: 

Weight: Over 1 lb. 

Finish: Refined detailing with a lighter glass that allows the mold's textures (like the basket weave and facial lines) to pop. 

Base: A classic "dry-foot" (unglazed edge), typical of authentic period export ware. 

Condition: Good vintage condition with little wear to paint no major cracks or chips. Patina is noticeable with both catchall pieces. ( see photos for details) common for ceramic and porcelain that's over 70 years old .
