Vintage 1960s "Price Import" Japan Glass Hanging Grapes Salt & Pepper Shakers with Stand

Add a touch of mid-century charm to your kitchen or dining display with this vintage 3-piece hanging glass grape salt and pepper shaker set! Imported from Japan by Price, this set features two clear glass shakers shaped like grape clusters hanging from a black metal grapevine stand.

High Quality Material

The most common variety for clear glass sets features a bright or heavily antiqued silver-plate overlay showing a darkened patina in the recessed details of the leaves and vines.

The grape shakers are made from standard soda-lime glass, which was the universal material used for mass-produced, molded kitchenware in mid-century Japan.

Specifically, they were manufactured using a process called press-molded (or machine-pressed) glass Liquid soda-lime silica was poured into a two-part metallic mold featuring the textured grape-cluster pattern, then cooled. You can usually spot very faint, vertical mold seams running down the sides of the grapes if you look closely.
